13 Game Survival Mode, EB Harrison Picks 11-3-22

Tonight is one of those nights that is every gambler’s best dream and worst nightmare all at the same time. Thirteen different NHL games on tonight, which can put you in debt or pay for your weekend warrior tab faster than day trading in June of 2020. Be careful tonight and don’t make a thousand plays. Too many plays will usually result with you in bookie jail.

Kings/Blackhawks OVER 6

Anytime you can get a 6 and not 6.5 these days is always a good thing for betting the over. Both of these teams have struggled keeping the puck out of the back of the net this season. The Kings have allowed the most goals in the league so far and the Hawks have allowed the eleventh most. The Hawks have scored 3 or more goals in 5 of their last 6 home games. Given LA’s track record, we should expect the Hawks to be able to score at least 3 tonight, and rely on LA to do the rest of the dirty work. The Kings rank eighth in goals for per game with 3.5. This pick is more so based on atrocious defense and goaltending rather than elite goal scoring, but those are my favorite types of games to bet the over on.

Ducks/Canucks OVER 6

Yet again another pick where we are banking on atrocious defense. The Ducks and Canucks both rank top 5 in the NHL in goals allowed this season. The Ducks rank third and the Canucks rank fifth. John Gibson has been underwhelming this season to put it mildly and has allowed at least 3 goals in his last 4 starts. Per dailyfaceoff.com he is expected to start in net tonight for the Ducks. Even if he doesn’t for some reason, neither of these teams can keep the puck out of the net. Both teams also rank in the top 10 in PIMS, so we can expect a decent amount of power plays tonight, which will hopefully get us more goals.

Islanders/Blues UNDER 6

This would be nicer if it were 6.5, but we will live with the 6. Sorokin has been an absolute monster so far this season and the Blues offense is dryer than the Sahara Desert at the moment. The Islanders and Sorokin rank top four in goals against this season, so we are banking on Sorokin putting up his typical superhero numbers against an offense in St. Louis that can’t find its footing at the moment. Sorokin in his last 3 starts is 3-0 and has allowed 3 goals total. As long as the Blues don’t decide to end their offensive slump tonight, we should be golden. Imagining a 4-1 finish with the Isles taking this one. I would take the Isles money line but it blows my mind they are underdogs in this one and that’s a little too suspicious for my liking.

Panthers/Sharks UNDER 6.5

Contrary to my over picks, I am taking the under on this one based on poor offensive performances so far, rather than elite defense. Both the Sharks and the Panthers rank in the bottom half of goals scored per game. The Sharks are tied in dead last with the Blues at 2.4 G/GP and the Panthers rank 20th with 3.0 G/GP. The Panthers have only scored more than three goals once this season on the road. If that trend can hold true, we should be able to rely on the Sharks to continue their trend of having the worst offense in the league. As long as the Sharks score under 3 goals, I think we should be fine on this.

Props (optional/extras)

I’m not a huge prop guy by nature but have recently tried to join the shots on goal army on Twitter so we will have some small/fun plays on these:

PARLAY: M. Tkachuk (FLA) O 3.5 SOG and T. Moore (LAK) over 2.5 SOG (+180). Both these guys lead their teams in shots and are going against teams that surrender a bunch. The Blackhawks have given up the eighth most shots in the league and the Sharks with the fourth most.
