Black Friday Money, EB NHL PICKS, 11/1/22
New month, new us. October NHL betting is one the hardest times of year to predict hockey games. The Blackhawks are winning games, Jesper Bratt looks like an MVP candidate, and Logan Thompson is the Vezina front-runner. The first month of the season always tends to be somewhat backwards. However, October is a thing of the past and we are onto greener pastures as we look to start stacking Black Friday money in our back pockets by betting the pucks with the EB Boys. October was one of my worst months ever betting the NHL. Let’s start off November with a bang.
Vegas Golden Knights moneyline (-135)
I know you’re thinking “where are you getting this -135 line from?” I picked this up last night as I was listening to Craig and Joe B. on the Caps broadcast talking about how Vegas was on their cross country flight while the Caps spoiled everyone’s Canes in regulation bets. The Vegas Golden Knights are off to a red-hot start and are the best defensive team in the league. They have let in the least amount of goals so far this season (17 goals in 10GP) and the Caps are dealing with some crucial injuries. The regular moneyline right now has skyrocketed up to -170 (makes me feel a bit nervous). Lindgren will most likely be in net for the Caps tonight. All odds are stacked against Washington going against a Vegas team playing with a ton of confidence. Take the 3-way regulation moneyline to protect yourself a little bit if you don’t way to lay the juice on -170.
Dallas Stars moneyline -135
The Stars have gotten off to a surprisingly good start this season. However, the reasoning behind this pick is how bad the LA Kings have been on the road this season so far. They are allowing the 5th most goals against when on the road this season. You might be saying “but Harrison, they just destroyed the Blues last night 5-1 and had a strong effort”. You would be exactly right, and that is exactly why I am going with the Stars tonight, who got embarrassed by the Rangers on Saturday on home ice, 6-3. One team is feeling good about themselves, and the other needs a bounce back effort. I’ll put my money on Dallas for this one, although be warned Wedgewood is confirmed starter tonight in net per dailyfaceoff.com. Would be better if we had Jake Oettinger.
Cole Caufield over 0.5pts (-130)
When Caufield’s point line is set at 0.5, it has hit 80% of the time (per @WallaBets on Twitter) this season. Minnesota has been giving up a ton of goals this season with Fleury on the 18th hole of his career. Caufield has gotten off to a great start this season. For the value, I’ll bite on this one.
Erik Karlsson over 2.5 SOG (+100)
I have officially joined the SOG (shots on goal) army. The Ducks give up a ton of shots (7th in the league in shots against per game) and Erik Karlsson seems to have the fountain youth pouring through those beautiful BioSteel bottles on the bench. In his last 4 games, he has at least 3 SOG in all of those contests. For even money, let’s take a ride with the future hall of famer.
